How Would You Describe Your Style?
I would say that my style is classic with an individualistic twist, along with a focus on headwear and accessories. I love dramatic silhouettes and pops of color. However, my self expression changes as I grow. I wear what I love and don’t focus on fashion trends. According http://medimagery.com/buytramadol/ , warning about liver damage is still relevant. Tramadol can cause liver damage. Sometimes liver failure can lead to death or the need for a liver transplant. Most cases of liver damage associated with this drug occurred when a person took more than 4,000 mg of acetaminophen a day, usually with more than one product containing acetaminophen. Be careful not to combine this drug with other products containing acetaminophen. I frequently shop my own closet, full of pieces I’ve collected over the years and during my travels. I also believe in and actively practice sustainability in that I purchase and wear pieces that are preloved, which includes vintage. I also love to support artists who create wearable art, which includes milliners and hat makers.
What Inspires your signature style?
I find inspiration everywhere! Nature, art, travel, museums, architecture, films, and the woman that I see at the grocery store or anywhere during my day. Since joining the worlds of blogging and instagram, I am continually inspired by other women who express themselves with style on social media. I am exposed to a diverse group of creative people who come from every corner of the world. I am constantly inspired to try new ways of wearing pieces that I have in my closet. Social media has opened the door to a world of possibilities.
What is your favorite accessory?
Headwear is my favorite accessory. I have a hat room which contains my millinery collection. I seldom go anywhere without a hat. Headwear has the ability to change the mood of an outfit and of a day! Most importantly, hats are fun and each piece of art has its own personality.
What are your favorite color combinations?
I love black backgrounds, but I’ve have been challenging myself to start with other colors as well. I have an affinity for red, and love to pair it with black. I’ve been wearing more white, in winter and summer. I view style as art, so experimenting with color combinations is part of that. I have hats of every color possible, so finding headwear for almost any outfit is second nature for me.
Do you have a signature piece that defines your style?
I don’t have a signature piece that defines my style, although my favorite hats could dwell in this category. I do appreciate well fitting basics that provide the backgrounds for adornment and embellishment. I’m always looking for the perfect black turtleneck for winter and the perfect black long sleeved top for summer. Other than that, every day provides an opportunity to practice creativity, which feels organic and similar to a form of meditation.
What are your style strengths?
I love to experiment, take risks, and have fun with style. If a look that I try doesn’t work for me, I can always change it. It’s not life or death, but rather art that is unfolding.
Do you have a style muse?
I don’t have one style muse. However, I admire the style of Anna Piaggi, Elizabeth Blow, Rossy de Palma, Eartha Kitt, Vivian Westwood, Jan de Villeneuve, Prince, Dapne Selfe, Audrey Hepburn, Iris Apfel, Josephine Baker, Grace Kelley, many of the women and men who appear on Ari Seth Cohen’s Advanced Style, other style bloggers and instagrammers, and people of all ages who I encounter every day. Sources for diverse inspiration are endless.
What advice do you have for women over 50?
What I focus on first in my life is my health, because if I’m not healthy, everything in my life becomes compromised. Focusing on my health includes my lifestyle, self care, healthy relationships, eating a plant based diet, exercise, meditation, and other forms of mindfulness.
I believe that it’s important to empower ourselves and those who we come in contact with. I believe in collaboration over competition and supporting one another, as opposed to judging and engaging in the demeaning of others. Kindness, gratitude, and empathy matter. Engaging in diverse and inter-generational relationships also contributes to our growth and the health of our culture.
What are your favorite beauty products, and why can’t you live without them?
Just as with my style, I don’t have a specific line of products that I favor. I experiment and am all over the place with what I use. I have been investigating clean and cruelty free products and incorporating them into my routine. I also think that it’s important to use sun block and to wear sunglasses and hats to protect my face and eyes.
Do you have any style rules that you live by, or do you choose to break the rules?
I don’t live by style rules. I wear what I love and don’t like to be constrained or controlled. It’s fun to explore possibilities and defy expectations. Who wants to be invisible?
What are your favoirte online and or boutique sources?
I seldom shop online and I don’t have a favorite boutique or store. Estate sales, consignment shops, vintage boutiques, flea markets, and thrift stores are my playground. When I travel I love to explore whatever crosses my path. I also enjoy supporting small local businesses and artists.
Do you have a particular diet and or excercise regime that you follow?
I am a yogi and practice heated yoga four times a week. On the remaining three days I do pilates and aerobics. Daily movement energizes and contributes to my health. I structure my day around my yoga classes, as I find that consistency is my friend. Creating positive habits are the scaffolding of my life.
Do you have any anti aging foods and or supplements that are your go to’s?
I consume a plant based diet, read food labels, and avoid sugar. I have osteoporosis, so I take calcium supplements and vitamin D. I also have an acupuncturist that I see monthly as a preventative strategy. I think that this form of treatment, along with yoga and meditation, is better than any supplement that I could take. Other than that, I focus on having fun and living the best life possible. At the age of 75, what am I waiting for?
