AGELESS STYLE………..

April 24, 2017 103 Comments

WELCOME to AGELESS STYLE where CINDY HATTERSLEY and I will interview another BLOGGER or INSTAGRAMMER to share with YOU our READERS the epitome of AGELESS STYLE.

I had to GOOGLE AGELESS STYLE and this is what I FOUND!

A G E L E S S :

  1.  not growing old or showing the effects of age

  2. 2:  timeless,  eternal ageless truths

What does AGELESS STYLE MEAN?

THAT’S WHAT I REALLY WANTED TO KNOW!

Who says you can’t wear a full-length leopard print coat or high street in your seventies? Model Jan de Villeneuve reveals the secrets to timeless style……………

“It shouldn’t be about clothes for an older woman, we just need nice clothes,” says Jan de Villeneuve. The 72-year-old model has inadvertently become the poster girl for the anti-ageism movement in fashion, thanks to her appearances on the catwalk at London Fashion Week last month. Advocates of ageless style couldn’t have found a better ambassador.”

Then YOU have me in my CONTESSA CURTAIN COATS who at almost 57 would LOVE TO OWN a full length LEOPARD PRINT COAT!!!INstead,I have had coats made out of old curtains!!!I had the POCKETS MADE BIG to GATHER the HENS EGGS.I did not want to go down to the coop and scold myself for forgetting the basket……..you see I wander the garden in the cool summer mornings and enjoy visiting with THE GIRLS.They are always happy to see me!

Of course my IMAGE conquers up THE IDEA of FOOD!

But thats another TOPIC!

I always enjoy reading about Ageless Style darling! Cindy looks lovely … and I will go check out her blog next!

I am most intrigued to learn more about your Grandmother! She had opera coats made for her in Hong Kong!! How did that come to be?? I think the first time I ever saw anybody wear an opera coat in modern times , was you in your Paris pictures! Now you know you have me wanting to find one of my own! Where did you begin you love of dramatic fashions darling? xox

Regarding Opera coats …. it got my wheels turning as to why we don’t source Hong Kong anymore… I lived in the Philippines for awhile and had sev. trips to HK. And a wonderful Filipino seamstress who came every Sat. She could finish a formal full length, line evening coat in one day. I am amazed even recalling this. I could buy the Chinese silks in bulk pkgs at the Navy Exchange. And I would need to keep Lonnie employed as she came weekly. So I would do a quick sketch of what I wanted or show her a picture and she could beautifully duplicate it. It was a fairy tale that did come true. We were all happy. So my question is … why don’t we look into having garments made in HK as men have their tailored shirts still made there. Beautiful workmanship.
Does anyone have the answer to this. I know. I know. The world has changed but I am an optimist!
