Elizabeth,
You and you ladies do know how to lunch and look fabulous. I hope you applied to the Golden Girl Casting call even though you’re not quite a golden girl. -
Paglamas Party!! … How delightful to be considered but also how equally delightful to say you’re not in the market, hahah!!
Apart from a bit of food shopping each day, I am, in the main, out of circulation. But standards needn’t drop. I’m still wearing proper clothes and a bit of face. Even if it’s just for the laundry and letterbox!
Well, I hope you are continuing on with no Episodes. Fingers crossed for you, Bella.

I LOVE your dark floral pajamas. Very Mrs. Delany. I didn’t know you weren’t feeling well but I’m so glad you’ve had over 22 days now. Pavlovas? Are those different than floating islands? Nevermind. I’m going to find out. I don’t like to bake but I love to cook. My man loves cakes, pies, cookies, etc. so I’m going to try for him since I am home. Oh I wish you could have done Golden Girls! But I understand…Speaking of Floating Islands, I first became acquainted with them in “Desk Set” when Katherine Hepburn (Bunny) makes the dessert for Spencer Tracy (Mr. Sumner) when he gets stuck at her charming NYC apartment during a rainstorm. Ever see it? I love it!
-
NO, I have NEVER SEEN THAT MOVIE!
I was driven by THEIR HOUSE’s in the HOLLYWOOD HILLS a couple of years ago however! They had houses next door to each other………………..
OH YES for FOUR YEARS if NOT MORE!!!
I have only talked about it THREE times maybe………….BUT MY READERS HAVE BEEN SO HELPFUL as THE DOCTORS WERE WORTHLESS!

I’m ready for some fabulous pajamas! Saw acres pair with a Chinese Cheong Sam collar on another website but they were sold out. Would love to read your friend’s blog. Annie and I have boarded up the doors for a few weeks until we see what direction this pandemic is taking. Stay well Elizabeth! Sending my love!

YOU DID THE RIGHT THING!!!!!!!
OUR COUNTY IS NOW ON LOCKDOWN!
THE PAGLAMAS are not for sleeping but for EVERY DAY WEAR………..
YOU would LOOK FABULOUS IN A PAIR while you write your MEMOIR!!!
STAY WELL…….I will call and check in with you from time to time!!

I am with Sandra…I would destroy those pretty pj’s! I am so happy that you are feeling better, I cleaned out my kitchen drawers. I certainly have plenty of things to do. When the rain stops we can garden!
-
OH SURE I CAN GIVE YOU THE RECIPE…………NOT MUCH TO THEM.
4 egg whites
Cornstarch and vanilla, sugar……………I will call you with the amounts!
PLUS BERRIES!
The smaller size cook half the time at 300………..so 30 minutes I think!
A bigger PAVLOVA is an hour of baking!
XX -
Are you going to give us the mini pavlova recipe? My sister loves those and her birthday is coming up…April 22–hope we are good to travel by then. I’m not crazy about Whole Foods either as the one here has very narrow aisles and a really hard parking lot…but I thought their prices were better since Amazon bought them.
You would be SUCH AN ENTERTAINING Golden Girl…and a true blue friend…too bad about the age and marital restrictions 🙂
Have a good week…keep these posts coming to cheer us all up!

Good morning CONTESSA
The sun is out but it is cold here in Vancouver. All theatre events have been cancelled at the theatre(s) I work at. Enjoyed your upbeat blog and the colourful pics!
So good that David spoke re focussing on the potential of people with disabilities.
Your pavolas would be so delicious with those fresh eggs. Lovely luncheon table.
The paglamas are great for indoor/outdoor entertaining.
Your upbeat blogs will help us thru the upcoming days/weeks.
Heard a top dr on tv last night saying the best thing we can do is stay CALM = so true.
I’m so glad you have had more episode free days.

I am CALM…………
Which is good but the anxiety is CREEPING UP!
STILL ON TRACK WITH NO EPISODES!!!
THANK YOU for YOUR EMAILS……….XX

SO happy to hear the news about your health, steady as she goes!!!
Feels like something bad is coming, and there is no way to stop it. A few days ago I drove onto I-95 (in FL) and realized I was the only car going north on a major interstate (no other cars were behind me on ramp). I knew rationally there had to have been a major accident south of the exit and all traffic had been stopped, but it affected me so much.. the entire drive to my exit (not far thankfully) I was the ONLY vehicle going north. My heart was racing, hands clammy, gripping the steering wheel.. it was a surreal experience. The overreaction was due to current events, but I cannot remember ever feeling so alone.
Home is the place to be, the best port in the storm.
XOXO
PS the ‘other’ : ) hen house can be found at reddirtcottage.com
PPS LOVE Trader Joe’s for many reasons (the BEST cellulose kitchen sponges that expand w/ water) but it is not close by!-
Erie to say the least!
Lots of accidents lately on our highway………..I hear the sirens daily sometimes multiple times!
HOME IS ALWAYS A GOOD SPOT!
YES, I LIKE TRADER JOES AS WELL……..GOOD TIP!Will check those sponges OUT!
STAY HEALTHY!

The world has changed now and people really are frightened by this fast spreading virus. I doubt there will be much filming of anything in the coming weeks/months as we need to practice social distancing and definitely spend more time at home.
Those of us who have gardens are going to be the fortunate ones. . . . . . . I have mine to tend and keep me busy, and with a screened gazebo which will enable me to spend time outside as the weather warms up here, I think I can handle being isolated with my love for a while! I do know I can’t visit home and family in the UK any time soon though. Luckily my freezer is full, and I bake my own bread………..oh, and the wine rack is loaded, haha!!!!!!Stay well – and do take care.

I was very taken by your outfit in that first photo, and then even more so in the shot with your friend. How to choose a pattern, when they are so gorgeous and so different?
You would have been a wonderful Golden Girl, although my first thought when I saw it was that you aren’t old enough.
Congratulations on the continuing episode-free streak, may it endure. But really, you must practice social distancing. It is no fun, but you don’t want to catch this virus and find yourself waiting in line for a ventilator. If everybody who was sick would stay home, and everybody else would wash their hands a lot, it wouldn’t be such a threat, but I’ve heard several people discussing how to game the system, to take flights when they had fevers by taking Tylenol just before to bring down their temperature (not that there are many temperature checks going on). This kind of selfishness is what makes the virus spread.-
OH GOOD GRIEF!
IS THIS THE FRENCH OR THE ITALIANS GAMING THE SYSTEM!
OR OUR KIN THE AMERICANS???
YES, I’m HOME have been FOR MONTHS except for those SELF CARE APPOINTMENTS that seem to be doing some GOOD for me…………
I did HOP out yesterday!BAD I suppose BUT ONLY ME IN THE SHOP with MY GIRLFRIEND who is HEALTHY AS CAN BE.RAINING HERE TOO so that keeps people inside.PROMISE TO BE GOOD!

Dearest Contessa, I am thrilled that so many days have gone by and you are feeling tip-top! You look great and too young for Golden Gil’s in my opinion! Although you certainly radiate life and would bring so much to the show!
Love your headband. My head is too flat or something, they just don’t stay on my head. Love the color on your newest acquisition.
I used to work for Whole Foods before they were bought by Amazon and I enjoyed it very much. I learned a lot about food there, so I have no hard feelings. The folks that I worked with were wonderful. And I still buy their salmon, although I have to drive “down the hill” from Joshua Tree to Palm Springs area.
I love looking at your house in all of your pictures. It is so interesting and pleasant. I am thinking about painting a room in my house that chartreuse color. It looks great.
I too, have never tried my hand at Pavlova. Your’s look good!-
GOOD TO KNOW ABOUT THAT STORE!!!

Pavlovas are something I have never made! Perhaps we should do a video tutorial: YOU AND ME! Yes! I think that’s a great idea! So happy that you are liking the alkaline water. It’s a game changer most certainly. You hair looks wonderful. I’m getting very close to cutting my hair very short, so stay tuned. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for months now. Alfonso, my stylist, isn’t ready yet. Can you believe it? He’s the one having second thoughts, not me. Sending tanti abbracci.

Well, he is certainly Mr. SUAVE-ITY now, and will be eager to welcome guests who have no interest in his teeth! The Pavlovas look sublime…good enough to wear as a little cap…such a chic luncheon! You are looking lovely and certainly not anywhere near 60 and most definitely NOT single as your handsome Italian will attest! Hoping good health continues without EPISODES! Your garden is a PARADISE and you can retreat into its bounty when you please until this WHOO WHOO Pandemic subsides

Glad you’re feeling better Elizabeth. Now be sure to stay safe from this stupid virus. We have 18 cases here and my company advised us to work from home next week. Churches are closed and weddings are being cancelled. It’s a nightmare. Thankfully we’re not in lockdown yet. Hopefully it won’t come to that but we’re trying to stay at home as much as possible or just going to solitary places. Great photos of you! Off to check your friend’s blog. Thank God for blogs and Instagram. It makes staying indoors less of a bore.

Pavlova is one of my favorite desserts. A local bakery makes mini ones all summer. I like to mix a bit of lemon curd with my whipped cream.
