FRAGRANT little pink rose that likes SHADE!

A white BIG CLEMATIS….HENRYI.

The GIRLS……….however, I do think there is ONE BOY!

We have 14 CHICKENS.

BOLERO ROSE

ABUTILON, a wonderful plant to attract HUMMINGBIRDS TOO!

Bolero, before she becomes ALL WHITE!

CLEMATIS………this one has DUCHESS in the NAME!

These IRON poles have been there for YEARS………..why is the JASMINE NOT GROWING UP UP AND AROUND?

By now they should be covered!

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

A Type of MOCK ORANGE that I LOVE…………..very short bloom but worth the wait!

A SAND BATH……….

This happens to be the PARSLEY from last years Vegetable bins.

Italian Jasmine over a French Day Bed…………

Golden Celebration

Purchased 17 years ago for my BIRTHDAY!

ONE of TWO PEONY I had bloom this year!

SLOWLY being covered by CREEPING FIG.

No, that is NOT a REAL BIRD!Had the SON cart home from WELLFLEET!

They were on the side of the road in CAPE COD with the floating TOYS and I had to HAVE ONE!

We have a BLUE HERON who likes to STOP by and FISH for the GOLDEN FISHES in THE GREEN POND!

His PURPOSE is TO BE SCARY!

A DAYS WORK …………..DONE.

This could possibly BE my BEST FRIEND EVER!

All I have to do is call him and he comes RUNNING!

Loves a GOOD PET or SCRATCH.

Belly Rub’s are his ABSOLUTE FAVORITE.

Will eat out of my HAND.

Smacks his lips telling me, “THAT WAS GOOD NONNA!”

MY GIFT TO YOU…………

A BOUNTIFUL BUSH of BLOOMING YELLOW JASMINE

My favorite photo of all these gorgeous garden shots is of your adorable mom. Mine just turned 92 and I need to get her in a sombrero ! We had dinner tonight with Mindy R. and she adores you…so does Cindy H. We need to meet after your glorious trip. Now I must catch up on your instagram.

What a garden! It seems it is thriving very well despite the drought from the previous 5 years. It is a shame about the few that did not make it through, but I am sure you, Banksey, and the girls will find the perfect plants to put in their place. All is blooming beautiful as are you in your jasmine yellow column under the jasmine. Off you go to on your Grand Garden Tour bringing joy and California sunshine wherever you go. Your presence will light up any garden and make it blossom.

Your garden is as fabulous as are you – just as I remember you many years ago when we were really just kids in our twenties absorbing everything like sponges. Give GP a hug for me and safe travels abroad. I was named after the queen – Tracy Elizabeth – my mother adored her and still does. We were raised singing God Save the Queen. Be well, dear friend, until we meet again…

I love all the pictures, especially the view from the house. Here in the South East of England we have had the driest winter in Ives 100 years. Could be in drought conditions soon so I should not worry about the rain. Enjoy Chelsea.

Hello sweet friend! Another delightful post. Thanks for taking us along through garden. It must smell delicious! A great time of year, when everything is “popping”.

Your upcoming English garden trip is truly a gift from the heart. <3 Enjoy each day-I'm sure you will. Can't wait to hear all about it. This will be the perfect time of year to see the best of the gardens and the countryside. Stay safe, and take it easy with the walking/crowds/sun/etc.

Mama looks so FINE in her Monet blouse and festive hat. Such a twinkle in her eye-she is a treasure!

Love to you and G. BON VOYAGE! <3

I am swooning over your garden photos! It’s still cold here. you asked about an area of jasmine. I just know that too much nitrogen fertilizer can help foliage but deter blooms. You could try a low nitrogen plant food that is phosphorous heavy. An English garden tour is on my bucket list so I will be living vicariously through you! Thank you for your generosity and sharing. Safe trip

    Love

I am not as tall as you, but I am used to wear them -I wore a wonderful takchita when my brother got married-.
My favourite are GANDORAS. I always wear them at home, when I go to the shops or at parties when it is hot.

    CARISSIMA CONTESSA,

PLEASE!!! Do not MOVE an inch in YOUR GARDEN!!!
IT is a part of your INCREDIBLE and MARVELLOUS PERSONALITY.
IT is ANOTHER BABY of yours as YOU created IT with your GREAT IMAGINATION, your IRRISISTIBLE CHARM, your SENSE OF HUMOUR.
IT has become a PEACEFUL and ROMANTIC MASTERPIECE thanks to your LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT for objects that found a reason for being admired and used (that Franch day bed… the 40s/50s maybe 60s bench you saved… those chandeliers…).
What is MORE … I cannot imagine your BOYS and GIRLS being traumatized by a single tiny change in THEIR WONDERLAND…

Your Mother looks great. She must have been a Beautiful Lady…

My DEAR CONTESSA, ENJOY YOUR TRIP AND TOUR ADMIRING FAMOUS GARDENS, but I insist: YOURS IS PARADISE.

    CON CARIÑO,

Your garden is just magnificent. And YOU, for someone who is not a photographer, are doing a great job photographing those amazing flowers. The roses and peony are just staggeringly beautiful. I especially love the Bolero one. That photo is worthy of a frame!

Can’t wait to see you in just a few weeks time!

All I can say about Jasmine not growing on that archway is that sometimes they don’t like metal. Could you wrap a bit of twine around it and help it get a start up? Or twine the whole thing?!

Your garden is seriously stunning. You will only want to get more plants but actually you have a rather english style garden. My terrace and plants out front keep me busy but i keep buying plants which is worrying. I got the spring planting bug. You are going to love Chelsea flower show – i have never been in such a huge crowd with no incident. Nicest politest crowd ever!!

Your garden is beautiful! I would love to see before and after photos of the garden before it was terraced.

How wonderful to have been able to watch your garden change and grow after all of these years. I cannot remember if you mentioned this before but is the house, the footprint, the same as when you purchased it? Or did you build it?

Have a fabulous trip to England, I cannot wait to see your photos! I have been many times and I am longing to return!

SAME FOOT PRINT we just extended it a bit……………
The house is a CALIFORNIA RANCH built in the 1940’s………we took it from an L shape to a U-shape!The foundation wouldn’t allow one to build UP so no one wanted to purchase it!It was also owned by the local High School teacher and had NO MAILBOX!!!!!!MY Italian did ALL the renovation………..there had been a FIRE in the kitchen at one time! They had just covered the burnt timbers!!!!!NO one on the street recalled a fire!!!!!SO< all very MYSTERIOUS! The photos are somewhere but not digital of course...............I Must find them!I always meant to do a book for my HUSBAND on what he had DONE!Perhaps, once I get back from The LAND of the QUEEN I will search and FIND and start for FATHER's DAY than I can show you!Just imagine a DROP about 10 pine trees.............covered in VINCA.LOADS of SHADE.
