Tis the paper I covet!

TIS…. THE PAPER I COVET.

I have a thing for paper………..I tend to have piles of it around the house!Magazines, letters, bills to pay…………….I never seem to be able to get the piles of paper gone! Can you imagine my eyes when I opened a box from SOUTH AFRICA with many small gifts all wrapped in a past year’s pages of a Florentine calendar!!??My heart soared and my breath stood still……………even with the creases and bends the photos were amazing………..this is the gift I cherish…………HER old calendar with notes and days circled of important events………………NOW HOW CAN I TOSS THIS WRAPPING PAPER?CANNOT ……………..WILL NOT.Just had to share that.Shall we move on to the INVENTORY…………

How are your NEW YEAR DAYS coming along?I have found myself tucked down at the abode cleaning and sorting…………….its been cold here in the mornings.

I have started the task of pruning THE GARDEN for SPRING time which always gives me new ideas!I love my garden……..its not perfect and when I started to garden I couldn’t tell you the difference between a perennial or an annual.Let alone the names of roses…………..but now I can and I keep building upon my knowledge.

We landed here at this house 20 years ago come June!I cannot believe we left ITALY 20 years ago!Italy, a place we ran to in haste as we were needed and a place I grew to ADORE more than life its self.I had fears……….which I conquered and I came to be an EXPLORER!I found many wonderful friends, enrolled my sons into a NUNNERY pre-school and learned to do laundry without a dryer!!

Now, I am off topic once again…………….I need to take more photos…………….anything you desire or are searching for…….I may have it tucked away in my arsenal of every day living!JUST ASK ME!

What a fitting ode to the coming of Spring ! Makes me want it to hurry all the more. You, the Rulers of the Roost and Sir Winston make it all come alive, and is that the prettiest tulip ever ???

    Thank You Elizabeth !

Oh how I understand your love of paper for I, too, collect and save that which I love (bills excluded.) My passion is 18th century French documents but a beautiful piece of paper and a good pen bring far more satisfaction that sending an email. I also love that your friend wrapped her presents in that wonderful paper from a left over calendar; how could you possibly discard it for it seems part of the gift.

I so enjoy your blog and seeing you in your wonderfully eccentric garb: I thought the opera coat spectacular.

I shall look forward to following the work your son does on his new house. I am sure you will have many ideas for him and he, for himself, which I hope you share. It looks like a great place especially with that lovely pond in the back yard.

    All for now….

    Cheers.

Happy New Year to you! I also have a thing for paper. I collect rare books, stationary, cards, postcards, wrapping paper, you name it. I think it stems from my love of books, letters and the written page. They do tend to pile up and I need to edit every now and then. You inventory is fabulous!

You are SO GORGEOUS…………and so FULL of compliments………..I think MARIE and MADAME DUBARRY would have LOVED US!
I know we would have loved “PLAYING” Decorator with their things!!!!
However, you and I both would have been living down at the HAMLET with the animals! No, I correct myself WE would have the animals living up and INSIDE the PALACE!
Can you see the HALL OF MIRRORS strewn with straw livestock and chickens perched upon the CHANDELIERS!!NOW, THAT WOULD BE A PHOTO FOR MISTER BRUCE WEBER!
OF COURSE,A WOMAN IN A RED DRESS AMONG THE ANIMALS WOULD TAKE THE CAKE!

I NOTE YOU HAVE GOT THE CAP THING DOWN!

We are only just now back from being very out of touch and so I have a MILLION emails to get caught up on. It was worth it though.
I still haven’t sent out my Christmas cards!!! 😮 Or even a proper, non-email thank you for a stunning pair of shoes…

    ALL THOSE TYPOS!

Just tell me…..what should I have said when she said……..”will it bother her that you have copied her”

Your necklace; with a watch that “makes it” (It was Adam’s grandfather’s pocket watch); I have to have the coat made…..(you sent me so many pics so it would be easy)

This is astonishing to people! Tell what you say about my completely copying you in every way!!!

I would like to buy ASAP the Christian Dior hat!

How do I pay for it?

    You are the best!

I was at a meeting with my client and her architect (who is a girl); with my necklace…..completely cooied from you…..(with Adam’s grandfather’s picket watch hanging; and she went NUTS!! I told her of the tale of me with my magnifying glasses……trying to figure.

Then I told her I asked you! She said….”did she mind that you copied her?”

Such a magnificent question! The dress……the necklace,,,,,,,the addition of the “locket ” (she said…..”that makes it!!”) duh.

I loved the question….”was it okay with her that you totally copied her??”

(I explained that I have not copied the “Opera coat”yet!! but I WILL!!!

What should I have said to that question? “Did it bother her that you completely copied her? ( I told her….I completely copied……down to the last detail…..still a work in progress…… but my necklace……is a total “triumph”!

You tell me what I should have said……..and I will tell you what I said….and I bet they are they exact same words!

My client and the architect (a woman) I already said that……damn near fainted over your sons!

    omigod who are those guys!

So funny! And the pic of them holding the chickens! They were just dying loving!

And my client who is building a house on the coast (I did their house in Montecito); has twin boys….(fraternal) who are almost 18; they are as different as your two. And they hatched just that way!

You have to come back and meet her!

    XXOO
