I read her book in two days………I closed the back of the book and was SO MOVED I had tears in my eyes.

SHE RIDES AROUND NEW YORK CITY on A BICYCLE……………A BIANCHI.

A LOT of you will recognize the name BILL CUNNINGHAM.He was a FASHION photo journalist who also rode a BIKE in NYC and would hang out at 57th STRRET and 5th AVENUE.This is where he first spotted TZIPORAH and a long friendship seeded itself.

Canada has very stylish clothes. No we’re not New York but Montreal is très chic. Very fashionable.
Elsewhere, you just have to know where to shop. Where I live, in Western Canada, my favourite
store is very sophisticated, very European, but not flamboyant.

Wow, I must get that book! So sorry that I didn’t get to read the article until today otherwise I could have gotten some LA area fashionistas to attend the book signing.

You always make me wonder where I am fashion-wise. Most of my clothes are boring – especially my winter clothes. We don’t go out much so there aren’t too many occasions for dressing up and trying to experiment with styles. My mother was always very conservative and I was never very adventurous when it came to clothes – not even during my teens. So I guess I am doomed.

Talk about a phenomenal book review! WOW! I will have to order it. Do you think the book could even help a short, chubby girl that’s pushing 50 – give or take a decade or two?   THE PHOTOS ARE BEAUTIFUL with other ORDINARY PEOPLE AS WELL……….than there is the immigration of her JEWISH FAMILY and the SIGN she received from her FATHER’s anniversary of his death.I LOVED IT.

right dressed for every event with a great personal touch and self confidence. Today
most Vip’s use a style adviser and still looking tacky.

Can’t believe that you lifted him – how emergencies do make us “rise” to the occasion.

I myself love dressing up (especially with hats) but I am nevertheless very conservative!
I will read Tziporah’s book when I can afford a treat!

What style Tziporah has! I’ll have to check out her book online. I am one of THOSE ladies you’ve pointed out who tend to wear t-shirts and jeans everywhere, but I do like to really dress up once in a while! 😉 I have my mother’s Bergdorf and Goodman black velvet swing coat for winter soirées, but other than that, it has been years since I’ve had anything really FUN!

Having hit the mid-fifties this year, I am finding I like chunkier jewelry ~ where did you find that massive pearl necklace you have on in the top photo, dear Contessa?? I would wear that with any shirt/blouse! Your rose bush looks lovely, btw.

You do too…so much more adventurous than I am but that doesn’t mean that I do not appreciate and admire you both with your bold and creative approach with what you wear…I do…it just would not work for me but I do need to lighten up and start having more fun! I will watch and learn!

I wish I could fly out to SF and be there. a year ago Feb I was in the airport in Palm Springs. I kept following this incredible woman and finally approached her. I was just gushing about how much I adored her ensemble and what style she had and it was Tziporah! We sat and had a nice chat. She is wonderful. I used to be an apparel buyer for Marshall Fields and would go to NY once a month in the late ’70s – early ’80s. What a wonderful time in that city. The best city to walk and see creative people who were setting trends. Just seeing her in that airport brought me back to that special time. Will order the book pronto!

One minute after you posted this book I ordered it! I love Tziporah and her style and am looking forward to reading the book this week. I agree with some of the other comments, I do not have the flair to dress like this but I admire the look! You look fabulous! As aways.

I hope your little grand-pig is ok after his ordeal of getting stuck. Hopefully his wounds will heal quickly!

OMG! This book is CERTAINLY on MY TO-GET LIST!!!! WOW. How exciting to have her in the same state. Hopefully, she will be moving up and down the gorgeous California Coast to meet her many, many admirers and talk about this gem of a book. She really is such an inspiration. It is so important for us to allow ourselves to let loose and at last be who we are. Some of the time, certainly. Haven’t we earned that by this stage in life? And of course fashion and style are among the ways that we do that. I can hardly wait to get a hold of this book!

And oh, those pretty little kitten heels she is wearing on the cover! I want I want I want! Though I might need a heel slightly higher…!!!!!!!!!!

Necklace + scarf counts, too.
Tziporah is a regular muse of Ari Seth Cohen, as well. I love her architectural hats.
My grandmother was from Hungary and used to do fabulous embroidery. Some cultures, not just there (think of Japan and China and Morocco and India) have great traditions of handiwork to embellish clothing.
I will order her book. While I always admire how she dresses, I would be too timid to do the same. I bet she has a fantastic personality to go with her fantastic clothes. Unafraid.

The Art of Dressing looks marvelous! I am jealous of women with good taste in fashion and decorating, etc.
I love the photo of you with your ubiquitous yellow flowers. I dream of seeing a flower bloom in MA. Yesterday I shoveled the piles of plowed snow off my bulbs so they can bloom hopefully this spring.
