This was the apartment my Sons and I stayed at in Paris. It was just PERFECT!I cannot believe I forgot to take snaps of the bathroom! With its Venician mirror and hanging chandeliers with a baptismal marble sink shaped like an egg!Good grief what is wrong with me!Maybe the owner has one she can send so I can do SHOW and TELL again!!!??How did I find this apartment in Paris……………..well, let me bend your ear a moment or two!It all started a few years back…………maybe six?We had company staying with us a Madame MISSY and her man SHAUN.She told me about a blog she followed from France.TONGUE IN CHEEK.The writer was a California gal from WILLOWS, married to a FRENCH MAN.She writes daily ,has not missed a day in seven years. Now it maybe closer to eight!Anyway, I became hooked…………this was my first BLOG to start following and subscribing too.Oh, she could make me smile and even laugh out loud.I found we shared a lot of similar things. For example ,she called her husband FRENCH HUSBAND. I have always referred to mine as the ITALIAN HUSBAND.French Husband seems divine and willing to let COREY run wild at the flea markets.ITALIAN HUSBAND does the same……..we are both lucky girls for many reasons. She found French Husband in a disco in San Francisco!I took Italian Husband to be , to the SAME DISCO when his “girlfriend”arrived out of the blue from Italy! That song Y M C A was popular then!HA!How many years ago was that people?Just know we share a lot of little daily doings that I find out through reading her GORGEOUS ,FUNNY, INFORMATIVE blog called TONGUE IN CHEEK .

So, fast forward a few years and she posts  that they have an apartment that they will be remolding and wanted to know anyone out there want to rent it for a week!!!DING DING DING!Bells and whistles go off in my head as I have already been plotting the CARLA LOVES PHOTOGRAPHY shoot! So, I was lucky enough to be the second guest on RUE du CHATEAU.The only disappointment to me was as the date drew near the big chandelier that the MOTHER IN LAW, the FRENCH HUSBAND and the contractor guy told her was too big(I of course saw it and commented on her BLOG IT IS NOT TOO BIG DONOT LISTEN TO THEM!) had gone out for some primping (on a broom stick down the road one of my favorite recent posts)to bring it up to code and was not going to be hung on my stay! But someone was on my side and the chandelier arrived and was successfully installed the day after my arrival! The best part was I got to see Corey again (I drove to Willows last November to meet her) and she spent the night with me and we had such a delightful evening chatting, sharing and eating that I was sorry to say good~bye. Her taste in the apartment was exquisite and I feel so lucky to have been apart of it!I also caught a glimpse of the daughter CHELSEA as she slipped out the door………….EVEN MORE BEAUTIFUL IN PERSON!

I FORGOT TO SAY! (I CANNOT do the caps like Contessa! Try as I might!)

But I want you to know; the black candles in the jar…..the hand door-knocker that my Mother had on every outside door….just sitting there…….next to the candles.

I get it all. And I have no idea who else “gets it all” but whoever does…..we are kindred souls!

    LA CONTESSA………GETS IT ALL….!!

And I believe will go viral! Please save a week or two for me with my daughter and granddaughter….

    I have to plan!!

HOW DIVINE ALL OF THIS IS! SUCH A CELEBRATION OF LIFE AND LOVE!!

I stopped by via Heather’s place in Arles. Delighted to meet you!

All these images make me want to reach out and touch the objects. I adore the textures founded in homes that appreciate what is worn and retains its glorious patina.

A bientot, j’espère. I will be sure to return.

So, TRUE the worn, the textures, the patina……….the “new” stuff just does not compare in my eyes.

I had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful Paris apartment just before Elizabeth and her adorable sons stayed there . I knew it would be the perfect place for them to stay while on their magical photo shoot…….Still can’t decide which pic is my favorite from the shoot, ……. maybe one will end up in a book someday ! Meanwhile what a fantastic souvenir and Father’s Day gift to Giampiero.

SHE HAS BEEN on almost ALL OF my favorite blogs!

MY PREDICTION IS THAT THIS SHOOT WILL GO VIRAL!

Are you kidding? We are all studying those two (there are two) necklaces……draped on the small bust (La C is a total genius!!!) and trying to figure out how we can copy those necklaces.

      (forget about the earrings…….sheesh!!!)

Just the necklace combination………it is sorcery! I thought it was just “Magic”!

      No! “Sorcery”!!

Studying…….and love the apartment……it is magic too!

      Penelope

ps give me a break on the chickens……I have chickens…..also…..but to arrange for the chickens??? In Paris?????

and to know a person who could “pull it off and photograph it”????

I sent the pics to the designer of the DRESS!

NEVER HAVE I SEEN SUCH A THING!!!

I BOUGHT THE DRESS…… (not to compete or try to replicate in any way) OOOPS!! I LIED!

I AM TRYING TO COPY HER NECKLACES!! YES!!!

      YIKES!!!!

No food blog on the horizon yet!! All our trips have been enhanced by hunting out interesting food places recommended by others, wether it just be for a coffee, a bite to eat, a special restaurant or to look at new food products and it has often taken us to areas we wouldn’t have perhaps explored before which has always been exciting. Food and travel are a marriage made in heaven! X

What a fabulous place, made more special by the connection with its owner, Corey. We stayed in a place in Toulouse not dissimilar that had so many interesting nooks and crannies filled with beautiful treasures, created by the most gorgeous husband and wife. Don’t you love how reading a blog you can be totally swept up and before you know it it has enhanced your life and travels in such memorable ways. Loving being taken on your journey!
