SHE DID ANSWER AFTER FIVE DAYS we had a weekend in between AND SHE DIDNOT ANSWER TWO OF MY TWO QUESTIONS!

I found ALEX in a PARK IN San Francisco!

He arrived by BABY STROLLER with a FAN keeping him cool!

His owners took him out and put him on the GRASS to HOP around!

He had a collar and a leash!

I NEEDED A GOOD EXCUSE TO SIT DOWN AND THIS WAS IT!

I WAS IN LOVE!

ALEX WAS HIS NAME AND THEY SAID HE WAS 20 pounds!

Not even a year old.

GUESS I WAS WRONG!

SEEMS SHE TOOK MY INSTRUCTIONS OR SUGGESTIONS AND THOUGHT I WAS PATRONIZING HER WHICH WAS NOT MY INTENTION AT ALL!THE above was from her…………..My “BRAVA” was in reaction to the fact she did the HASHTAG with her collected look post.My”laughing” emojis were smiling faces………………….

SO MUCH FOR REACHING OUT AND TRYING TO HELP WITH THIS TECHY WORLD WE LIVE IN!

I NEED TO KEEP MY IDEAS TO MYSELF!

I realize as we get OLDER we get more AGITATED?Is that the right word?I saw it happen with my own MOTHER…….

IT’s hard to TAKE when YOU MEAN WELL.Even my STEP MOTHER yelled at me recently for having the ITALIAN hang an ANTIQUE PORTRAIT TOO LOW!She wanted it HUNG in a room she never sits in!I thought I was helping her after her surgery by putting it in a room she “LIVES IN!”The reason I hung it LOW was so she could LOOK AT HIM AND HAVE TEA WITH HIM!

THE ITALIAN HAS HUNG IT NOW IN ANOTHER LOCATION………I have yet to go visit due to my health.

Once again I was trying to help an 87 year old enjoy Life a little bit more…………instead I made her SO MAD!

I KEEP HEARING I AM DIFFERENT…………..GUESS MY WAYS OF HELPING ARE DIFFERENT TOO!

LIFE GOES ON THANK GOODNESS………………we had two couples for dinner recently.

That was NOVEL.

BEEN ALMOST TWO YEARS THAT WE HAVE HAD COMPANY!

I had to find FLAT SPACE for ALL THE CRAP (GORGEOUS STUFF) I KEEP ON THE KITCHEN TABLE!

I HAD TO MOVE IT or WE COULD NOT SEE EACH OTHER!

IT WAS TOO SMOKEY TO EAT OUTSIDE!

……….THE ITALIAN hasn’t said ANYTHING YET, but it all went to THE GARAGE and I’m NOT ALLOWED IN THERE

because He calls me THE GAS……….you see I take OVER any kind of SPACE!!!

Cleanest room in the HOUSE? THAT WOULD BE THE GARAGE!

MY MOTHER WAS A CLEAN FREAK AND SO IS THE ITALIAN………HIS MOTTO IS DO IT ONCE RIGHT!

MY MOTHER also told me to learn TO TYPE!

Did I listen?

NOPE!

HOW I wish I could type when doing these BLOG POSTS!

I am embarrassed to tell you HOW LONG THEY TAKE ME!

I say I am juggling way MORE than he is and cannot get item A to correct spot at that moment but know I will be going THAT way later in THE DAY!Plus, I have to conserve my energy to do that DINNER THING…………….at least HE is NOT eating PASTA EVERY NIGHT TO START THE MEAL!THOSE DAYS ARE FAR AND FEW BETWEEN!

BETTY CONTINUES TO GROW.

On SUNDAY, AUGUST 22, 2021 she is now 49 POUNDS!

SHE continues to chew our shoes and carry my lacey bra around!

Over all she is a good calm dog.The biting has slowed down A LOT.

THAT BRINGS ME to BRAS!

I cannot find one that fits right.Lately they hurt my ribcage or that part above it!

I have tried the YOUNG THING BRAS just a thin piece of material but THEY RIDE UP!

SO, next I tried a 38 circumference instead of 36……….STILL HURTS!

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I know I have a RETIRED BRA BUYER from NORDSTROMS OUT THERE READING!

CAN YOU CHIME IN PLEASE or Others?

I have had them FIT ME and to be honest that was before they started hurting me; but they are YOUNG GALS AND I think have had a STOCKROOM CLASS AND THATS ABOUT IT for THE BRA KNOWLEDGE.

BOOBS AND BRAS…………I NEED TO FIX THIS SITUATION!

MY LATEST READ IS A BOOK ON BREATHING!I AM LOVING IT!MAKES SO MUCH SENSE TO ME!

DO you know we are only suppose to breath through OUR NOSES NOT OUR MOUTHS?

DO you know a choir teacher figured this out years ago and ended up helping patients in hospitals with asmatha and other critical problems?SLOW DOWN THE BREATHING AND YOU CAN CURE A BUNCH OF PROBLEMS AND HAVE MORE ENERGY!I WILL READ TO THE END AND TRY TO FOLLOW SOME OF THE BREATHING PROTOCOL…….

ONWARDS TO THE FACE…………and if you are wondering what the HECK was going on with me in the FIRST PHOTO do not be ALARMED.I was being tested for SLEEP APNEA & SEIZURES.I had a delightful young man from South Africa wiring me up and monitoring me all night long!The wiring takes over an hour and they let you sleep in a cool room where I was FREEZING!I let MARTIN know I needed to GO PEE and had asked before he put me to bed HOW MANY WIRES WOULD HAVE TO BE UNDONE AND HIS ANSWER DELIGHTED ME!

ONLY TWO he said!

HE GAVE ME ANOTHER BLANKET!ONLY TO WAKE ME UP AT 5 AM to send me on my MERRY WAY without TEA OR COFFEE!

The RED BOTTLE above I had a sample which I took to that BEAUTIFUL wedding a few weeks ago to use as a moisturizer.

GOSH I LOVED IT AND COULD SEE A DIFFERENCE RIGHT AWAY!THAT NEVER HAPPENS!

I saved the sample and ordered a big bottle……….it has a light tint and I think an SPF, but my skin GLOWS when I wear it as a simple foundation!Easy to apply………I GIVE IT A TEN STAR RATING!YOU BETTER NOT BE LIKE ME (not listening to my mom) AND LISTEN TO WHAT I SAY!I of course DO NOT GET PAID FOR MY WISDOM!Just sharing my FINDINGS!

I STILL LOVE THE FIERA CONCEALER but use the KIEHL’S around the house.

Which brings me to THE END of my POST.I may take a LEAVE OF ABSENCE from the BLOG WORLD and EMAIL in GENERAL……WE ALL KNOW I am in NEED of NOTHING!

Definitely do NOT NEED anymore CAFTANS or make up advertisements in my inbox.The NEWS is TUFF RIGHT NOW and I do not NEED ANYMORE STRESS IN MY LIFE!I can NOT UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE NOT TO BE VACCINATED!I FIND THAT A VERY SELFISH STANCE!DUMB IS MORE LIKE IT. MY PREFERRED WORD; BUT LETS BE POLITICALLY CORRECT!IF YOU are NOT VACCINATED I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!UNLESS, YOU HAVE A DAM GOOD REASON!

WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER AND THOSE OF US WHO DO AS WE ARE TOLD TO BENEFIT THE WORLD ARE NOT ABLE TO TRAVEL AND GO OUT AS WE WOULD LIKE TOO AS YOU PEOPLE HAVE DECIDED YOU ARE SMARTER AND BRIGHTER THAN THE LEADING HEALTH AUTHORITIES!I BET YOU DIDNOT GO TO SCHOOL AS LONG AS THEY DID; NOR HAVE THE GRADES!(I have heard from MY LUNG DOCTOR that my hospital constantly has 50 covid patients at all times minimum!)SO, that SNEAKY BIG VIRUS IS LURCHING AROUND MY PARTS…… TO CLOSE TO ME!

THEY WIPED OUT POLIO AND SMALL POX…………….and just think THEY DIDNOT HAVE THE INTERNET BACK IN THE DAY nor GOOGLE OR A CELL PHONE!

LOOK AT THE SPEED IN WHICH THEY GAVE US A VACCINE!

LOOK AT THOSE RESULTS AND STEPS FORWARD!

OFF MY SOAPBOX AND ON TO MY CLOSURE HERE.

I NEED A BREAK BOTTOM LINE.I NEED TO FIND MY JOY AS IT HAS ESCAPED ME FOR MONTHS NOW.

BOTTOM LINE I NEED A VACATION from LIFE as we live it today and since I cannot go anywhere

(I read the Governor has asked no one to travel to the STATE of HAWAII and yesterday they evacuated South Lake Tahoe!)

I will CREATE MY OWN LITTLE OASIS!

HOPEFULLY, I WILL TAKE A SHORT BREAK if they haven’t CHANGED TOO MUCH IN THE TECHNICAL WORLD I CAN RE-ENTER SUCCESSFULLY………..

I received some NEWS about that HEAD SCAN UP TOP TODAY after two weeks of waiting……….

I am a bit HAPPY and SAD!Finally after FIVE years of writing down my EPISODES (I lose my vision and feel faint) and seeing DOCTOR after DOCTOR they have SPOTTED FIREWORKS going off in my head that MAY EXPLAIN my episodes!Four MRI’s of the BRAIN over the last five years didNOT pick this up!These FIREWORKS as I call them are the precursor’s to SEIZURES in what this NEUROLOGIST is calling EPILEPSY.YES, you heard me CORRECTLY!

I under went HEART VALUE REPAIR 2010.They had to turn my HEART OFF!

Found out I had LADY WINDERMERE or Mycobacterium Avian Complex better known as MAC in 2020 and had to GIVE AWAY MY CHICKENS and ONE DOVE and NOW EPILEPSY!

BOY, I SURE DIDNOT SIGN UP FOR THIS!

I WILL KEEP PLUGGING ALONG AS WE HAVE SO MUCH TO SHARE AND TALK ABOUT probably in the NEW YEAR.

I WILL POST AN AGELESS STYLE AT THE END of September AS I HAVE ANOTHER GOOD ONE FOR YOU!BUT THEY ARE ALL GOOD AND ITS SO FUN TO MEET NEW PEOPLE!

I think you are wise to shut down for awhile, and deal with the health issues etc. Your thinness has worried me, but know you have a handle on it.

With the news on every front from COVID, masks, fires, illness etc. I agree with you. Take a break, recharge, and turn off the idiot box. Put music on and dance. I am starting to do the same…I want to eliminate negativity at least in my space…and with your gorgeous home and yard you can do it too. So happy to you doing this…not easy either….

I am looking forward to end of the fiscal year in the government, and no more inquiries, no more issues with lack of inventory, lost orders etc. I want to try and do more art etc. Dept. of State is not the agency it once was. That went out with the bath water with the hostages were taken in Iran. Never been the same….diplomacy is really a useless word today…not like it was when people actually were able to communicate and work together for a common goal. Glad I am the age I am…it’s painful at times for me to witness. It was my entire world growing up….and I know it inside and out.

I never pushed that cookies button before. And I nealy always comment because I love what you write. And you always write such sense and truth. Some people are just difficult. And you cannot give advice.
Oh Elizabeth, you have been through the mill with your health. You must be exhausted with it all. Wishing for better news for you and answers and SOLUTIONS.
I really like a lot of the Kiehls products and have only recently ststed using them. I must try your recommendation.

Life has been totally exhausting the past 2 years with CV. It is hard to find joy when you are constantly in a state of feeling unwell. I have probably lost the past 12 years of my life to that situation. I’m not ill but thyroid issues, menopause etc and the inability to get a Dr who actually is interested beyond prescribing anti depressants because you know if you are over 40 and childless all your issues must be in your head. Wow, on the epilepsy possibility, good news on that is hopefully a pill can be the solution and get you feeling better in no time. Must be frustrating that it’s been a 5 year journey to even reach a possible answer. As to the bras, maybe it’s time to let the girls roam free. Alternatively why not just invest in some of those bralette’s without wires or any real underband. They would be comfortable for around the home. I will miss reading your blog but the most important thing is you take time for you away from the madness we are all currently existing in. Not too much living going on these days.

Elizabeth I just love that first quote. I have saved too! Hopefully you figure this crap out soon. You will be back here I know when you get your joie de vivre back and you will. As my grandma would say, ‘Don’t let the turkeys get you down.’ Sure is a lot of them right now and the anti-vaccine idiots don’t help. I ask myself why does our country try tolerate them? They need to sign an affadavit saying they will forgo all hospital help and stays if they choose as ‘is their right’ not to take the vaccine. It’s also the right of doctors and nurses not to risk their lives on these fools. Anyway, don’t get me started… Since America seems to be going to hell in a hand basket (Texas today ) maybe a break is good for the soul. Get more good book, garden time and Betty time. Wow so many comments I doubt you can read them all. First…I have never met you but liked you from day one. Please please never change. I remember when a package came to your door meant for neighbor. You promptly took it to said neighbor and left without a thank you. The world forgets how important small gestures are to many of us. So so sorry you are struggling a bit atm but give yourself a break you’ve had lots of stress with health and the world has been a trying place for awhile now. Btw a new pet that’s being integrated into an existing family with a rhythm never easy no matter how cute they are, but she is a good dog, I agree. Don’t you love how men keep “ their spot “ neat. Harder to do when we the women are creating atmosphere! You do that so well. Yes vaccinated! I’m 66 and I will say this to you… you are going through a normal passage of life. It does level off. Yes walking helps me! Sorry so long. No pressure (including house). John Lennon said: “ idle time not wasted it’s the spirit in line with body”. Last but not least…thank you for being genuine, in today’s world that’s so rare.
On that picture….I just have to laugh at that one. Good grief!

Well, I can’t think of anyone less deserving of that woman’s attitude, LA CONTESSA. I would enjoy any help I could get on Instagram and I’m not even an old lady! Or maybe I am. Either way, if someone offers me techie tips, I’m all over it. I am becoming less ‘helpful’ these days as I’ve seen too many bad attitudes out there and I feel at risk for interacting. I know that sounds sad. But I think Covid has had a lingering effect on us as a human race.

Now the anti-vaxxers are adding more tension and disruption. There was an anti-mask/anti-vax protest in our city today and my hubs said traffic was disrupted and it is beyond a nuisance that these idiots are plugging our hospitals. Yet they insist they have ‘rights’ and ‘freedoms’ to go unmasked. Grab a brain, people!

Sorry, I’ve gone on a rant.
I hope you are feeling better soon. After the last post, I was all happy, dancing around for joy to hear that you were feeling so much better. It really does suck to feel health setbacks.

Dear Elizabeth, So sorry to hear about your latest diagnosis but I guess the silver lining is that finally you have answers and help can be found.
I do hope your energy and joy of life will return , take time to refresh and enjoy lifes simple pleasures. We will miss you and your posts but your physical and mental health is paramount.
The IG lady certainly misread your helpful comment , she just doesn’t know what a kind and generous soul you are.
Thank you for the info on the book. As a suffer of allergies and seasonal asthma I will search for a copy.

Enjoy your time away from this mad mad world as it has become. Relax learn to breath properly, I am doing just that it’s been my problem with getting dizzy after sitting down, my son 49 also had to go to a breathing specialist so it’s not just us older wow girls .

Good god. Do you need more???? Well, at least you have a diagnosis. See you’re not crazy. Of course now comes the long road to figuring out the best way you need to be treated. I find that these are just terrible times. I can’t stand watching the news. I turn to QVC or listening to people babbling about nothing more important than the color of a top. Hello Contessa, We can see you beaming while holding that rabbit, even through the mask! I am sorry you had to encounter that rude lady and the others–that’s why tact and manners were invented, so you can even politely disagree with people. If she wants respect, she has to earn it! About the break, I am siding with the more selfish people here. Perhaps you can just have a much reduced schedule. If you totally stop, it is hard to pick it back up–almost no one successfully does. That is why, although lately I have not been posting anything, I still have a few stories on the back burner and will never claim an official break. Thinking of potential blog posts even gives me a way of organizing my thoughts.

I share your frustration with the hordes of people who refuse to get vaccinated. No, I am not talking about the tiny percent who are not eligible. I’m talking about the others who buy in to cockamamie conspiracy theories. If everyone who is eligible had gotten the vaccine as soon as it came out, we would not be in this dire circumstance now. The current state of affairs is a pandemic of the unvaccinated. Here in Tennessee, our hospitals are filling up, staffing shortages abound, everyone is working much harder, and the National Guard has been called in to help. I worry about accident victims not being able to get in to the ER because of all of the unvaccinated COVID patients who are in there gobbling up services. Our nitwit governor has declared that parents can ignore mask mandates in the schools, because “Parents know best.” If that’s the case, I guess they don’t need pediatricians for their kids. He also just approved almost any adult to carry a handgun, with no safety class first and no permit. We are going to Hell in a handbasket. As to your own situation, please take as much time as you need. Indulge in some self care. Play with your pets (Banksy appears to be smiling in the pedicure photo!) Eat some delicious food. Relax. Listen to the birds singing, watch the spiders spinning their webs, smell the pleasant breeze, and feel the soft fur of Mr. Theodore. We will all be here when you return. I think you are wonderful. Regarding vaccines, I must add that some of us are not eligible for the vaccine due to pre existing condition and allergy. Please have compassion for us. Doctors have told me that I am the one at risk, not the vaccinated people around me. The virus is found equally in both vaccinated and unvaccinated. THe unvaccinated are only harming themselves. You are fortunate if you can take this vaccine because it reduces risk of death greatly, but everyone is still vulnerable to catching it. Everyone should remain cautious because the vaccine was designed for the Wuhan strain, not the variants such as Delta, Lambda coming now. Thanks for allowing my input here. Be blessed always.

Oh wow…your health issues sound rather daunting and I am sorry to hear that you now have been diagnosed with epilepsy.
Your oasis of calm is most likely in your beautiful garden among your gorgeous roses.
As far as bras go I swear by the Prima Donna brand…I wear their Deauville styled bra and they are on Instagram so you can see how beautiful they are as well as comfortable.

Hi Contessa, you know I’m always here if you need me to do anything for you. I had to take a break myself for a bit trying to get my health back. I threw my meds in the garbage two months ago have lost almost 35lbs and have mostly given up meat. I’ll never be a true vegetarian because I do love a good steak and seafood, but 95% of the time I’m doing fruits and vegetables. I still have my stomach issues so I go have a colonoscopy and endoscopy later on in the month. I am in the same boat. I can’t find my joy these days. I find myself so angry all of the time. I’m so tired of these Republicans and Anti-Vaxxers. I wish we could send them all to Texas and be done with them! Stay safe from the fires, crazies, and viruses! The cookies thing is because of that GDPR law that passed a couple of years ago. It’s mandatory or you could get in trouble.

I think it is a good time for you to recenter and enjoy life. Even though you seem sad…you still have your sense of humor. And that’s saying something!
Sometimes our written word doesn’t come off the way we mean it to (like to that Instagram lady). My daughter told me that my phone texts were too curt! And that I should add exclamations and/or emojis. Who knew. I try to be brief. But now I’m adding!!!!! Dear Elizabeth, I think your body is telling you, you need the downtime. I think even self imposed deadlines cause problems. Sit down enjoy your garden, spend some time organizing, ( it always makes me feel so accomplished to organize anything) and enjoy banksy and Bette. I’m glad you are finding out answers to your health problems. By the way, the governor is suggesting we don’t go to Hawaii, however everyone who goes is Covid tested so I feel, Hawaii the safest place to be right now. I’m there every week, for work of course, and feel perfectly safe flying over and back.Actually now is a great time to go as it’s really thinned out the tourists- And you can enjoy the island so much better. I’m not sure I’ve gotten cranky getting older, but I sure as hell have become clear and that’s okay. Everything you’ve said is okay & sometimes a hiatus is in order. Isn’t it odd when you deliver what you intend as helpful & it’s misunderstood? Communication with medical professionals since 2o2o is daunting.
You certainly have the perfect oasis to relax in.

I related to “ trying to help”. I have had to ask myself if it’s worth all the efforts… especially when my life is so busy anyway..but if you are brought up with kindness, it comes out naturally- however, I feel I almost need to protect myself more for consequences of it…if you understand. I was envious of Banksy… I would so love a pedicure, too – tired of doing my own! And Betty – she’s growing so quickly. What a beauty! But, to the point, I have found a new bra that is so comfortable on my ribs, lusciously soft, no underwire, supportive, and a specialty of the company is a few of their bras are designed for wider-set breasts. I recently had breast surgery and had to rethink everything – after trying so many bras, my BFF found this as a gift for me!

Yes, yes, yes to all you said!!
We are fully vaccinated, as are all our friends. We had overnight guests in August, and lunch/ dinner guests. We know people,as well as American family, who are anti-vac, and it has caused a huge divide. Why are their rights more important than ours?
So happy to read this post from you. As always, you are spot on with your opinions.
Italy is a bit more sane than the USA. So much craziness in the world right now.

The fact of the matter is – in my self inflated opinion, and just as my mother always said – getting older is not for nambie-pambies! It’s tough going and that’s why, I believe, it is said Youth is wasted on the young!
