CONTESSA:WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO MAKE YOUR OWN SKINCARE?

I started making a few of my cosmetics because I didn’t like the ingredients I was seeing in the things I was using.Plus the cost was ridiculous!

CONTESSA:HOW LONG BEFORE YOU SAW RESULTS?

Results were slow like anything you put on your face.It takes consistent use. I am 72 so other than having a facelift. I want to look my age but have a healthy glow and not chase the wrinkle.But I do think my skin is much better and more moisturized.Less breakouts and firmer skin. I am not a doctor or expert and everyone has different experiences.

This works for ME.

CONTESSA:DO YOU THINK YOU ARE SAVING MONEY BY DOING THIS OR SPENDING MORE ON PRODUCTS TO MAKE THEM?

I absolutely save money!! Fewer ingredients for sure.

VIKKI had her EYEBROWS TATTOOED but she does not recommend for older women.She feels they are too harsh and after the fact the shopkeeper told her the process doesn’t take to older skin!

She is not HAPPY with hers and would not recommend it for those of us in THE PRIME OF LIFE!

The tattooed eyebrow will fade over the next five years!

CONTESSA: CAN YOU SHARE SOME OF YOUR POTIONS OR RECIPES?

 DEODORANT is 2 tablespoons each coconut oil(Antimicrobial properties , baking soda(natural odor absorbent) and 10 drops of tea tree oil(antibacterial, antioxidant and anti fungal. Mix these well. Keep in a cool place. A very small amount is needed. It works!! Look at your deodorant and see the ingredients. Yikes!

FACE SERUM. Nightly.  I mix small batches of this as there are no preservatives!

2 oz dropper bottle.  Fill 1/3 with castor oil, 4 droppers of Frankincense (Need I tell you this is the bomb of essential oils! It helps with inflammation, improves skins elasticity, and antioxidant.Google it…) four droppers full of jojoba oil, 10 drops of vitamin c serum and finally hyaluronic acid. (the hype is real on this one.!)

FACE MASK twice a week after steaming my face. Bentonite clay with tiny bit of water until you are able to move with your fingers.  Leave on until dry. Rinse with warm water. Sometimes I add a drop of Frankincense.  You can tell I love that stuff.

CLEANSER is bamboo pads with witch hazel, a few drops of frankincense or rosemary oil, and a little castor oil.  I put all the ingredients in a mason jar. mix well and add pads. ( I buy these on Amazon)

SUNSCREEN is Trader Joe’s Daily Facial Sunscreen.

BTW this has the same ingredients as GOOP. and…It’s $8.00!

I think the best compliment was from a friend that I haven’t seen for awhile.  She told me my skin looked great. Then asked what Dermatologist I go to.

HOPEFULLY, I have seen the last of those NASTY OCCURRENCES!

SO, to CELEBRATE ME I DECIDED TO WHITEN MY TEETH!

Here I am showing you my soon to be 64 years old teeth!

They were a bit yellow compared to the rest of the population!

I was told years ago that I COULD NOT DO IT as I have FAKE TEETH a bridge as they call it and those would stand out compared to front teeth that had the bleach applied.I was MISSING SEVEN TEETH at birth. SO FAST FORWARD 20 years and I ask again at my teeth cleaning last month.

YES!

They could do something about it!

YOU be the JUDGE!

I didnot tell THE ITALIAN as I wanted to see if he would notice any change!

For TWO WEEKS I had to wear the “TRAYS” at home at night!

Only once did he say ,”WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THERE?” Meaning the kitchen where the bleached was stored in the refrigerator!

HERE ARE THE PHOTOS I TOOK SO WE CAN ALL DECIDE IF IT WAS WORTH THE MONEY AND THE PAIN of having your mouth pried open with two appliances for 60 minutes.
