TIGRE was MISSING!

May 17, 2025 87 Comments

THE WILD CHILD!

ON Mother’s Day he did not appear in the morning walking my legs up my body announcing his arrival with three MEOW’s and the paws pumping a mile a minute on my NECK!

Nor did he show up for meal time.To say the least I was worried.

I put the SOS out with neighbors close by.

That evening MY NEIGHBORS found him in a house that had SOLD on our street. No humans and NO furniture.

One of the neighbors; I still do not know which one HEARD HIM MEOWING!

This photo was sent to THE ITALIAN to say TIGRE IS FOUND!

I CRACKED UP when the hubby showed me this photo.

I still crack up every time I see it!

You can see TIGRE was trying to get the attention of these two through the window in the photo above.

As he adores this family too and has a WONDERFUL relationship with the little girl MAYA.

Just the day before the disappearance she cried for 10 minutes after he left their house.

He happily goes in an open door or window and visits.

One day The Father told me TIGRE was in THE CRIB!!

OR was it these TWO who FOUND HIM FIRST?

Maya is ONE.

Max is almost TWO!

FANTASTIC DETECTIVES IN THE MAKING!

CLEANING up for another hard days work of NAPPING then STALKING the GARDEN!

I can’t tell you how many lizards, baby birds and baby mice TIGRE has brought in the house to play with!

I have managed to SAVE MOST and RELEASED back into the garden!

Or rather GROOMING for the NIGHT AHEAD!

Both are NIGHT OWLS!

A PEONY IN THE GARDEN.

YESTERDAY on the street.

Wild child and MAX the super sleuth.

Here we have a photo of this morning!

A quick catch up and chat about the day ahead!

ALL GOOD here on our end.

Tigre is HOME SAFE AND SOUND.

Did you know Orange cats are predominately MALE?

I recently read One in Five Orange cats are FEMALES!

I have had a few MALE ORANGE CATS.

They have FANTASTIC PERSONALITIES!

Who remembers that TV show in the 1960’s with a cat called TOMASSINA?

I LOVED THAT CAT!

HE was an orange GUY.

The DUSTER from my favorite shop in San Diego.CHATEAU BEL AGE Boutique is in an old house close to the airport! If you have not been there go!IT IS AN EXPERIENCE TO SAY THE LEAST.

MY DAUGHTER IN LAW swung by to pick out a MOTHER’S DAY GIFT for me, which is the LEOPARD DUSTER I’m wearing above.I ABSOLUTELY ADORE IT and will wear it until it becomes THREADS!

SOMEONE SPECIAL had a BIRTHDAY IN MAY!

SHE TURNED FIVE JUST LIKE THAT!

SINGING with her new MICROPHONE!

She once told me she wants to be a Vet a singer and an artist when she grows up!

MAY is zipping by and time is running for me!

I think this is NEW DAWN a climber, which is doing well in a bit of shade!

Slight fragrance too.

Summer is upon us.

I am dreaming of beaches and warm weather.

And perhaps one of these!

HOW ABOUT YOU?

XXX

ANYTHING YOU WANT TO TELL ME OR OTHERS KEEP SCROLLING DOWNWARDS TO COMMENT.

THANKS FOR STICKING WITH ME.

I am still HERE for NOW.

I SO ENJOYED YOUR COMMENTS ON MY LAST POST!

THEY MAKE MY DAY INCREDIBLY JOYFUL.

I HOPE THIS POST BROUGHT YOU A WEE BIT OF JOY!

A CAT. SOME CHILDREN.AND A GELATO with a ROSE tossed in.

TAKE GOOD CARE PEOPLE.

A BIG HUG.

Years ago, I had a female orange tabby. She didn’t like anyone but me, and some days she didn’t even like me. Mean little devil, but I still gave her a wonderful home.

I am so happy that Tigre was found. It’s amazing how much he loves to wander. When we had a cat, she refused to leave the house. Even our yard was too much for her. All cats are different it seems but she had a sweet personality. Her breed was British Shorthair.

Your granddaughter is so sweet. I can’t believe she’s already 5. Time really flies. My son is 19 now. I’m always like, when did that happen?

This summer looks like it’s going to be very busy, so I’d like to skip it and move immediately to autumn 🙂 I met my besties for lunch last Saturday. We had a great time catching up and the possibility of a trip to London was mentioned. I like the idea of that.

Hope your health is doing better. I try to check on you on IG every day but I admit that I am not always catching up with your blogs. Will try to do better.
    Have a wonderful week.

What a delightful time you took us on. Oh my gosh I’m so glad you found the rascal Tigre! That was an adventure for him. Such a funny photo with him through the window paw up—get me outta here. Love Max’s crocodile t-shirt! If they made one in my size I’d buy it in a snap. Story for later reply—been working the last three months on local elections. I’ll be done mid June, then get a break and then some more coming in November. Love ya. Chiao

    Hi Elizabeth,
Sorry I’m so late reading and commenting, I’ve been running around. I’m glad Tigre was found, he was on an adventure and looks like he found a few new buddies to play with.
The garden looks so lush and beautiful. Your roses ??!
I would gladly eat a lemon sorbet, looks so refreshing,
    and served so elegantly!
I just ordered new cushions for outside, as the mice got to mine while they were stored away this winter. I’ll finally have my decks ready for nicer weather and my tea/reading time on my chaise! Looking forward to it!
    Stay well friend.

      No hurry getting here!
      I need new outdoor furniture!
It’s not easy to find! we have a problem with the squirrels, eating the fabric from the cushions and the Italian does not like the metal arm rest because they get too hot.So that doesn’t leave many options!

TIGRE! What a character. He found a way into an empty house but couldn’t find his way out. Little guy. Thank goodness for your neighbours. Cute kiddies! Love your mother’s day gift from your DIL. So great on you. She knows your taste! Summer will be upon us before we know it. It’s still a bit cool here but I will miss it and the rain come the hot summer days. xoxo

Lisa, you won’t believe this, but there is another neighborhood story about Tigre, which I just found out about yesterday! He evidently slipped into another neighbor’s car who left their back window cracked and the neighbor got in his car and drove away and all of a sudden heard a meow from the backseat! This has been my biggest fear that he would get in the FedEx or the UPS trucks as they’re pretty much open when they were delivering a package because he’s so nosy!!The neighbor had to turn around and drive back to our street to drop him!!!

    Hi Elizabeth,

Well, I think Tomasina was both a movie and a tv show. Google the “Three Lives of Tomasina” on YouTube. I hope you are still able to write your blog — it i very enjoyable! I planted annuals a little early but I should have waited as there’s a frost warning tonight.

When I was growing up, our neighbours had a long-haired orange cat named Honeyboy. He lived for several years but met a sad end.

It was a cold, gloomy, rainy — mizzly — day but a bright spot was reading how Tigre was lost and thankfully found and it was so nice seeing your granddaughter.

That PEONY!! so gorgeous… All the shades of white…

I got to planting some seeds this weekend. Cherry tomatoes, cilantro, sweet bell peppers, and some sugar snap peas. Reminds me… I need to plant the sweet peas when I get home (suggested that you soak them for 12-24 hours to hasten germination). I started watermelon seeds 2 weeks ago after meeting a set of 3 yo twins via FaceTime. Just the motivation I needed to start sowing seeds. I remember the magic of gardening with my girls when they were that age (now 22 and 24).

I had originally misunderstood about the kitty. I thought it was the neighbors cat that was stuck in the closed up house. (Not your kitty that you were looking for). Thank goodness your little detective neighbors saw him in the window.

My girls are asking for a cat to add to the family. Too many land sharks (coyotes) in the area. I’d have a hard time keeping them inside as our doors and windows are open most of the time.

All for now. Pillows to make…

    XOXO

So glad Tigre is okay! Years ago, I had a cat who wandered into a neighbor’s home while they were moving out, and he got locked in when they left! He was gone for days. So, I can relate. And I thought all orange cats were male – they have the best personalities. Those children are adorable, and it’s hilarious that Tigre made himself at home in the crib. Your little princess is beautiful – I laughed out loud over the singing picture. I know you and Giampi are enjoying her so much. Lovely duster, and what a great gift!

    Hi Elizabeth,
You made my day happy, receiving your note card. I have it down on our fireplace ledge. It’s so you, unique, and colorful with your pet pig. That is a keeper, it brings me smiles. It’s in our great room so I see it all the time. I’m a card person, it’s staying put. Hopefully that has brought you “pure joy.”
So so so glad Tigre was found. I wonder how he got into that empty house.
Then at the neighbors doing their floor aerobics . The children are cute and the father looks like a nice guy.
No, I did not know that orange cats are predominately male.
Lovely leopard duster. It looks comfortable and so you. Looks nice on you. Nice gift from your daughter-in-law.
Your granddaughter has the sweetest smile. Look at that 5 balloon and all those pretty presents. Now you can for sure add rockstar to her list. She is right at home with her microphone. Love her personality and self confidence.
New Dawn is gorgeous, and wow that fabulous Peony is stunning.
That Gelato is a work of art. This was served at a restaurant that knows what they are doing.
Love the ceramics, presentation is everything. The art reminds me of a product line that our company used to represent, the artist was Julia Junkin. I still have some of her serving pieces that I was able to buy wholesale. My neighbor at the time saw my birthday plates and mugs and she had me order her a set.

Your flowers are SO gorgeous… roses and peonies are the most beautiful I think… a very green thumb you have!! Your granddaughter is so adorable–cannot believe she is five years old. We had an orange cat named Gingerale.. he was a roamer, too, and there were times we were very worried. We decided not to let him out at night… too many dangers in the country in CT. Love your duster… it is YOU. Think of you often, love your insta posts. Our two chicks are now camping in the Redwood Forest.. they will not want to come home to flat, boring FL!! If it had been possible they would have visited you…XOXO

The photos of Tigre in the house, imploring his friends to free him, are hilarious. I do think you would write a series of children’s books about him. I am so happy there was a happy ending!

Tigre is quite the character. Loved the story. Orange Tigger lives next door to us and visits us most days. Love having him for a neighbor.

    Hi Elizabeth!
I haven’t had a chance to write in a long while, major health challenges. But I’m still hear reading and thinking of you.
I love the adventures of Tigre, complete with photos! What a character! Our tortoiseshell kitty Molly once got stuck in the attic of the neighbor’s old house. It was a business and when we finally heard her meow after going missing for a couple days, they came over at 10pm to let her out. She was always making friends, like a dog and wandered right in.
I remember Tomassina, who knew he was a boy! I enjoyed the Disney Tomassina movie too.
Happy 5th Birthday to your special girl!
    Take care!
    Brenda 🙂

The cat caper and photos are just what I needed on this gloomy rainy day in northern MI! You sound energetic, full of happiness and love for your family, gardens, cats, neighbors. For those of us who read you that is wonderful. Seeing you in that caftan says it all. Life is good Contessa!

Marsha, I should’ve added how he got in the house. We don’t really know, but there had been workmen there by Day and there were two windows slightly a jar one on the second story he had to access via a roof .My Italian said that he could not get out from it however, if he tried, I didn’t ask more information about that. I was just happy to have him home, and if he went in the open door when the workmen were there, he can easily slip by and not be spotted. We will never know the real story.!

    HI THERE CONTESSA
Oh so good that Tigre was found safe and sound! Always a worry when a cat’s routine changes. My dear sweet Bella – orange cat – was always home at 4:00 for dinner. One day at 4:00 – no Bella – so odd – 4:30 – no Bella – 5:00 – no Bella – so off I went on a neighbourhood search – no Bella. Eventually a neighbour found her dead in her back yard. So upsetting. Security footage showed her coming into the yard – went around in a small circle and collapsed – died instantly. Vet said cats do have heart attacks.
Wow 5 years old – how time goes by – so much enjoyment with your granddaughter.
    Such beauty from your garden.
My current cat spends hours grooming. Right now – 11:10 pm she is on the buffet looking out the window to see what/who might be going by.
We = your readers always enjoy your posts! Your pics/topics brighten our day also.

Love the story of Tigre. We had a white cat many years ago who went missing. The neighbors house was for sale and he got locked in the basement/crawl space. Unfortunately, he was there over a month. Very skinny when we found him but recovered fine.
